Please check the tides as the boat will only depart at high tide.

You can drive to Santa Maria through the elephant reserve with a 4×4. It takes 3-4 hours from Maputo to Santa Maria / Nhoxani. 4×4 vehicles are mandatory.

You can either fly or drive to Maputo and park your car at the Maputo Marina. Travel by boat, which can be arranged at an extra cost. The travel time is approximately 1.5 hours and you depart at high tide. This is the most popular option.
