Accommodation Options
The Deck House is self-catering and can accommodate 10 people with four en suite bedrooms. The Tree Top Suite can be added as an extra option to make it a 12 sleeper. There is a comfortable lounge and dining area which open onto a well equipped kitchen. The kitchen is conveniently positioned between the living area and the pool so no chefs need to feel left out of the action.
There is a second dining area on the other side of the pool under a pergola with sea views so close you could be on a boat.
As an optional service we can purchase food and drinks for you and have it delivered to the Marina for your departure, please contact us directly for this.

Included in your stay
Discover the beauty of the Machangulo coastline with our Chapacem boat—meaning “taxi.” This 21 foot vessel is skippered by Samito, our lodge manager, and is perfect for exploring nearby areas. Please note, the Chapacem boat is not intended for deep sea fishing but is ideal for short excursions and coastal adventures close to the lodge.
Guests at The Deck House Lodge can enjoy guided trips in our 4x4 vehicle, driven by Samito. Whether you’d like to explore the scenic Wreck Beach (rock pools and surf the waves) or visit the local village, Samito will ensure a safe and comfortable journey. This service adds adventure and convenience to your stay, making it easy to discover the area’s hidden gems.
For a 7 night stay, a total of 50 litres of fuel is included — 25 litres for the 4x4 and 25 litres for the boat. Should you require additional fuel beyond this allowance, it will need to be purchased separately.
- Island day - braai on Inhaca Island and go snorkeling in the reserve

- A movable TV is available at The Deck House Lodge. Should you wish to use it, please request Samito to bring it out when needed.

Inhaca Island tax.
Before your departure, we kindly request a compulsory shared gratuity as a minimum contribution to recognize our dedicated staff. This covers the preparation of the lodge, attentive support during your stay, and laundry services during and after your departure. If you feel they deserve more, any additional gratuity will be deeply appreciated by the team.
On-site massages (book through Samito)
The Deck House Lodge offers a curated selection of wines available for purchase during your stay. To view the list or place an order, simply ask Samito, our house manager, who will gladly assist you.
Elevate your stay at The Deck House Lodge with our optional private chef service. Available for your entire visit or for a special occasion, this experience brings personalized dining right to your table. To avoid disappointment, please book in advance so we can ensure everything is perfectly arranged. Guests may supply their own ingredients, or the chef can purchase them for you—making it a seamless, tailored culinary experience.
Charcoal and firelighters, this can be purchased through Riaan.
21 Ft Yamaha boat
Chapa Chem
The Deck House provides the use of their 21 ft Yamaha boat, which is included in the tariff for for ‘line of sight’ excursions. It can comfortably take up to 6 adults or up to 8 pax including kids. Bring your own snorkelling equipment please.
Chapa Chem is fine for travelling to the Inhaca snorkel site close by, which is about 2.0 kms away; to the Santa Maria Village 3.0 kms, to the Channel or just for cruising around the peninsula generally.
It comes included with 25 litres of fuel for a 7 night visit, which is usually adequate, and 10-15 litres for a 2 night booking. House Managers, Riaan will co-ordinate the skipper of the boat. Any more fuel than that will be for own account, but that should not be necessary. Feel free to bring extra fuel for your enjoyment if you plan on additional hours of use. Extra fuel can be bought from Riaan, if needed.
Please Note
It is not suitable to go to Inhaca Village, which is 20 kms away, or to Portuguese Island.
If you wish to go on a longer excursion to Portuguese Island, rather charter Super Duck, one of Bemugi’s boats or Gozo Azul charters.
THERE IS A NO-WAKE ZONE DIRECTLY INFRONT OF THE HOUSES.
PLEASE IDLE OUT TO AT LEAST 300M AWAY FROM THE SHORE BEFORE GETTING ON THE PLANE
