Samito
Samito is here to ensure your stay at The Deck House Lodge is seamless and memorable. With his warm personality and attentive care, he’ll make you feel truly looked after. As our dedicated skipper and driver, he can assist with transport and local experiences, from guided 4x4 trips to coastal boat excursions. Guests can also enjoy his freshly baked pão bread, delivered each morning for a homely touch. In addition, Samito can arrange fresh prawns, crayfish, crab, and fish from local fishermen when in season—bringing the flavors of Mozambique straight to your table.
Izza
Izza ensures that the Deck House is always spotless, creating a comfortable and welcoming space for every guest. She takes pride in keeping everything spic and span, and is happy to assist with laundry or lend a hand in the kitchen—whether it’s chopping, dicing, or preparing ingredients. Izza is known for her dedication and willingness to go the extra mile, making your stay truly memorable. While her English is limited, she understands the basics and always responds with kindness and care.
Emeraldo
Esmeraldo works alongside Izza to ensure your suite is perfectly prepared while you enjoy time at the beach. With efficiency and care, she helps keep everything running smoothly. In the kitchen, Esmeraldo can assist with peeling, cutting, slicing, or preparing a fresh fruit salad, and she’s always ready to set the tables for breakfast, lunch, or dinner—whether indoors or outdoors. Simply ring the bell when you’re finished, and she will promptly clear away the dishes. Though her English is limited, Esmeraldo understands instructions well and is dedicated to making your stay at The Deck House comfortable and enjoyable.
Alson
Meet our night guard. With a welcoming smile, our night guard ensures your evenings at The Deck House are safe and comfortable. He is always available to assist—whether filling your ice bucket for evening drinks, clearing dishes after dinner, or tidying up the space. Once guests have retired for the night, he locks up securely, organizes the area, and makes sure outdoor cushions are protected if it rains. His quiet dedication helps you relax, knowing everything is taken care of.
Xhani
We have a resident cat, he arrived on our door step 3 years ago as a kitten, we named him Xhani. He is very friendly and lovable. The staff feed him every day but you are most welcome to spoil him with some tit bits of fish and meat and a cuddle.
